Research interests:
Dr. Tze-Ying Chen has devoted his expertise in vegetation research in Taiwan for decades. His research interests include: 1) vegetation survey and classification; 2) plant biodiversity conservation; and 3) forest wetland ecosystem survey and monitoring. From 2012 on, his research focused on the impact and risk assessment for Fagus hayatae under climate change in Taiwan. A series of plots were set to monitor population dynamics of Fagus hayatae among different habitats. He is trying to reveal the habitats where vulnerable Fagus populations live, and to develop adaptive management strategies to climate change for this glacial relict species.
